Benefits of a Shorter Treatment Time

There are several potential benefits to Teeth in a Day dental treatment using All-on-X, including:

  • Minimally invasive procedure reduces the risk of infection or rejection and doesn’t require bone grafting like other implant procedures.
  • Healing time is faster with fewer complications.
  • Computer guidance allows the dentist to target areas with the highest bone density for the implants, eliminating the need for bone grafts.
  • A beautiful smile with a temporary full-arch denture while your implant screws heal.

How Does Teeth in a Day Work?
Nobel Biocare™ developed a system for a single-day dental implant procedure utilizing advanced imaging and close coordination between the dentist and oral surgeon so patients can walk out of the office with a beautiful smile the same day as their surgery.

I-CAT scans of a patient’s mouth help the dentist place implants in areas with the highest bone density, using at least four implants for a full-arch denture fitting. 3D imaging helps our dentist get a full view of the bone structure under the gums from our cone beam dental CT scanning unit and Nobel Guide’s virtual reality software.

This procedure improves the accuracy and precision of implant placement on surgery day, reducing the risk of inflammatory responses after surgery. In some cases, after implant surgery, the patient may experience infections, or their body might try to reject the implants. All-on-X implants reduce those risks and improve patient comfort during recovery.

The Procedure for All-on-X Teeth in a Day

Patients will consult with the dentist and get I-CAT scans to map their mouths during a consultation appointment. The dentist will use proprietary imaging software to determine the best placement for the titanium implant screws and create a model for the full-arch temporary denture that will attach to the implants.

During surgery, your surgeon will use computer-guided robotic tools to place the implants where the dentist mapped the best implant sites and will affix the temporary denture. You can walk out of the office with a new smile shortly after surgery.

The bone will heal around the implants over the next few months. Your dentist will schedule a follow-up appointment to re-scan your mouth and ensure that the implants have healed correctly. You can then get fitted for your permanent full-arch denture that will attach to your implants.

If It’s All Done In a Day, Why a Temporary Denture?

Your mouth needs time to heal after your procedure, and it will take a few months before the bone in your jaw bonds with the titanium implant screws. Although the temporary denture attachment should prevent movement of the screws, bone doesn’t always grow exactly the way we predict.

Creating a permanent denture later will provide you with the most comfortable solution, as your temporary denture might slide out of place when bone pushes against the anchor. We model and create a permanent full-arch denture once we know the exact location where the screws have set after the bone bonds with the titanium.
